Darby Dan

Right now Nick is getting 2 days off every other week so we take full advantage of the free time we have. After a full Saturday afternoon, we got dressed up and went to the Darby Dan Farm. Doctors Hospital put together a great event filled with a putting contest, corn hole, and a ring toss. We won some great prizes there! Robin and I were impressed with the music and shrimp that was dispensed by an ice sculpture! Nick was impressed when he broke the door knob...men!

American Idol Tour

Mom and I recently went to the American Idol concert. Dad got us tickets to the meet n' greet and then we sat in the 11th row for the show. It was really cool to see the Idols up close! Brooke is our favorite. She's as nice in person as she appeared to be on tv.

Hangin' with Dad

Dad and I have spent several days at the new Creekside area in Gahanna where I grew up. First, we celebrated his birthday on July 17th at a restaurant with a great view, and here we are at the Farmer's Market. We got some great produce and had fresh lemonade.

Ortho BBQ

We spent last night at a BBQ with people in Nick's ortho program. It was a great opportunity to get to know who Nick spends all his time with and hang out with the other wives. We had great food, and played a little corn hole. We need to PRACTICE! Game on!

What a Man!

Even after working more hours than I can keep track of, Nick is home today getting the grass mowed. I told him that I would do it, but he said, "No! I don't want you to break my new mower". Can't say I blame him!

Let the Garden Grow!

It's not much of a garden, but it's so fun watching it grow and I love going right outside and picking something fresh. I think I will try to add a few more things next year!

We have tomatoes, basil, & parsley.

And when at last his labors

Bring forth the very stuff

And substance of all beauty

This is reward enough.

Curb Appeal

I decided that I would try out my green thumb (or lack there of) at our new house. There wasn't much landscaping when we moved in, so I am slowly trying to add some curb appeal.

I love impatients because they are easy to grow!

Nick started his second year in his residency on Tuesday and has been working the floor for orthopedics. This has been a very busy week! We watched "Red, White, and Boom!" on tv this year. We were just fine sitting comfortably on the couch, and at least we were together. I do want to get Nick downtown some time since he's never experienced the thrill of being in the heart of the excitement.
