We are pretty sure that our baby is a girl, but like a good little girl should, she had her legs crossed! However, the tech that did our ultrasound hasn't been wrong in 14 years. Nick has already purchased pink Buckeye gear, and Libby can feel her moving around!

A new Mommy and Baby to-be

Are here in our halls-how excited are we??!
A girl or a boy?

We don’t yet know what

But wish Libby well on her little PEANUT
She’s patiently waited for her turn in line

The bundle of JOY will be hers this time.
In her 4 years here, you’d think we’d have taught her

A New Blessing

Most of you have heard our news, but Nick and I are expecting our first baby in April! We are so blessed and ready for this new journey!

Mamma Mia!

We were so lucky to get a chance to spend a wonderful evening with old friends. We went to The Wine Guy Wine Shop for dinner at Creekside in Gahanna and then headed downtown to the beautiful Ohio Theatre to see Mamma Mia! The show was amazing and we had such a great time visiting and laughing together!

School's out for Summer!

Well, school's been out for a week now and it's officially summer. I ended the last day by attending a cookout hosted by one of my families. I had a great time and realized that, despite a tough year, there are things that I will miss...

1. Learning Dutch, Japanese, Indian, and other foreign words.


2. Trying to guess the many moods of my girls when they walk through the door.


3. The shock I felt when I heard bad words coming from a 6 year old!


4. Reading wonderful stories to a captive audience.


5. Hugs, hugs, and MORE HUGS!


6. Being told that I'm beautiful on my worst of days.


7. The encouragement & support of my wonderful families.


8. Breakfast at meetings with my Team.

Back to Bean Town!

We finally made it back to Lima, Ohio to visit my in-laws! Nick enjoyed playing golf with his Dad. After getting a workout in, Barb and I spent some time in the kitchen cooking and talking about anything and everything. We also got to visit with the grandparents. Before we left, we had our routine lunch from the famous Kewpee restaurant.

Saturday Craziness!

Where was I this lovely Saturday morning? Old Navy with over 100 of my closest friends! They are having a sale on their flip-flops, only $1/pair. Sounds like a great deal until you find yourself standing outside for 40 minutes before they open and then get trampled trying to get through the door. I was successful despite the craziness!

Easter Traditions

Ever since I can remember, our family has colored eggs for Easter and then they were hidden for my brother and me to find. We still follow this tradition but some things have changed...

The coloring of eggs has turned into an intense competition between those that are involved. We usually place the pressure of deciding the winning egg on Grandma Fisher. When Jeff and I hunt for them, it is an all out battle and race for the superior child to find more eggs.

I am proud to say that even my on-call, tired husband was able to participate and made a beautiful Buckeye egg- what a (predictable) guy! We missed the family that we did not get to see and hope to see all of you soon!

I have always found great joy in my Grandma's delicious sweet pickles. We use the juice in our Easter deviled eggs, cut them up as a relish on hot dogs, put them on sandwiches, and eat them out of the dish before every family get together. This past Thanksgiving, my Grandma and I sat down in the kitchen as she recited this famous recipe for me. I made them this morning, and it reminded me that the best thing about making a recipe is all of the memories that come with it!

Chicago Trip

One bonus of being a teacher is Spring Break! This year Nick had an orthopedic conference in Chicago so I met him there for a short visit.

stay in a hotel right off of Michigan Ave...

and eat, drive around in a tiny car, and enjoy eachother!

O-H-I-O

Our recent trip to Indianapolis with "the Birds" was a BLAST! We got a room at the Hilton and the guys went to the Buckeye basketball game at the Conseco Field House while the girls had lunch, shopped, and got pedicures. We ended the night with great food and a visit to downtown hot spots. The weather was nice and we could walk everywhere! The next morning we visited Maxine's, from the Food Network's Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, for their famous chicken and waffles! Now it's back to reality.

Trip to Louisville

Dad, Mom, and I traveled to Louisville back in January for my brother's birthday. We stayed the night at his apartment, visited his office at Humana, explored downtown, and went inside the Louisville Slugger Factory. We had a GREAT time filled with a lot of laughs!
