trip to the zoo

Emma and I met friends at the zoo for the first time! What we didn't know was that it was half-price ticket day, so it was packed! The massive crowds combined with three little kiddos made for a very short stay.

We came home and read a book about animals instead!

Emma enjoyed the touch and feel part of the book. Mommy liked the dimples on her hand!

Nick's Grandpa Converse is quite the handy man and made this great table for Emma.

Grammy painted it scarlet & gray!It is complete with her own little bench!
I love that she will use it someday to color, play with playdough, and many other fun activities. It was made with love, and a special addition that can be passed down the generations.

daddy's day

Happy 1st Daddy's Day!Nick got to celebrate his first father's day this year with sweet little Emma. Both sides of our family were here to share the day. Nick was the grillin' man and made filet, bacon wrapped chicken, and shrimp skewers. He spent the rest of the day playing and relaxing with his daughter. What a great Daddy!

My 22nd birthday was the last time that I got flowers from Nick. They were little pink roses and we had just started dating. Since he's not a flower kind of guy, you can imagine how happy I was to get a beautiful boquet "just because"!
